Incorporated with a view to be part of that change happening, Navodaya is commenced as an NGO organization registered on 09-07-1990 with registration No. 146 of 1990 as an Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) under Registrar of Societies under
societies Act XXI of 1860 at Nellore district of Andhra Pradesh and all of the provisions conferred in this Act are applicable to us.

Inspired with the United Nations Sustainable Development goals,
NAVODAYA Yuva Kendram (NYK) works collectively, seeks alliance,
partners, associates, collaborates and manages some of its independently held workshops, reaching out to the people in India across various sectors irrespective of caste, creed, religion and color.

Taking up chronic to major issues in widely stated societies, Navodaya is committed to successfully resolve and achieve goals that are in pursuance of United Nations 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDG).

With more than 1 Billion population, expected to be home for more than 1.5 Billion people by 2030, India’s population growth rate is at 1.13% ranking 112th in the world as of 2017. Infant mortality rate is at 29.94 per 1,000 live births (2018).

Nearly 70% of India’s population lives in rural India and 35% of the world's illiterate population lives in India. Apart from some of the major health problems such as malaria, maternity, malnourished children in neglected rural communities, India also faces sanitation, malnutrition, medicare and lack of awareness issues that require services and solutions at the forefront.

NAVODAYA Yuva Kendram (NYK) is a dedicated organization to influence and contribute some of its majority of services in the sphere of health, education, environment, social media awareness, medicare and cultural activities.

Assisting men, women of all age groups and offering childcare in the upliftment of underprivileged communities, NAVODAYA Yuva Kendram (NYK) is committed to offer its wholehearted support and service to the needful.
