As per Sustainable Development Goals (SDG-4) for equitable quality education and lifelong learning opportunities, nearly 8.1 million children are out of school as of 2004. 35 million children aged 6 to 14 do not attend school. 53% of girls in the age group of 5 to 9 years are illiterate. Additionally, lack of quality education is also identified as a major issue which requires a major attention to bring awareness among both school institutions and management.

NAVODAYA Yuva Kendram (NYK) has conducted successful education workshops and have helped hundreds of children, men and women to understand the importance of learning and have been provided learning materials and accessories with guidance to attend schools.

With the emergence of millennials, Gen Z generations, it is much more significant that literacy is required to be on the rise to promote employment at every level and to eradicate child labor, unemployment rate and to increase income levels among rural communities.

UNICEF is particularly working with the Government of India in helping 17 of its States to ensure that children who are at disadvantage to access childhood and elementary education have set its targets to achieve by 2022.

Developing various solutions to problems in respect of literacy programs have to be fixed and particularly in protecting the interests of children who live in poverty by providing their parents a safe livelihood and helping children to live in a pedagogy environment.

NAVODAYA Yuva Kendram (NYK) works to attain such massive goals for endorsing literacy activities among all age groups, particularly for children.  On the other side, there are also other problems where scholarship and education sponsors are necessary to assist low-income households. NAVODAYA Yuva Kendram (NYK) collaborates with organizations to appeal on behalf of merit students who are aspirants to pursue higher studies.
